HMRC Inheritance Tax – IHT400 update and new forms

HMRC are preparing changes to the Inheritance Tax Account (IHT400) for the April 2017 introduction of the Residence Nil Rate Band (RNRB) and Transferrable Residence Nil Rate Band (TRNRB).



There are changes to the forms IHT400, IHT421, IHT422, and two new IHT forms, IHT435 and IHT436 are being introduced for use on or after 6th April 2017.

Whilst carrying out the changes the application for reference form IHT422 is now just for IHT purposes; a new form IHT122 is being introduced in April for chargeable events.

All amended and new Inheritance Tax forms will be available for use in FormEvo at the beginning of April in time for use from 6th April 2017.
